DAMKO said: I'm starting a slow paced and asynchronous SG on  ENS  and everyone meeting the requirements is welcome to participate.Clarifications:
  • slow paced: I think it will take several month (maybe a year) to complete this journey but this could vary a lot depending on many factors.
  • asynchronous: there will be no rigid structure or rigid coordination. Anyone participating will contribute with bits of knowledge along the journey and will use other participants' knowledge as leverage to speed up his/her pace or to challenge his/her own understanding of things. Same structure of the old linux kernel development (without Torvalds) .
MISSIONI want to investigate the connections between ENS and the typical DNS infrastructure especially in terms of:
  • proof of address via DNS
  • DNSSEC
which includes the ability of re-using a standard TLD as ENS domain.DNSSEC will require to work directly on a DNS: I'm thinking of PowerDNS but it could also a patched BIND. I'm open to any other proposal. This will probably lead to a deep investigation about ROOT DNS (which is something I want to do since at least a decade).I want to investigate how ENS could be used in the validation of TOR nodes, sites and resources.I want to investigate how ENS can help in the identification process (persona and pseudonymous) that, for example, could be used in KYC or in ownership-proof processes.REQUIREMENTS
  • basic GIT skills
  • basic linux system administrator skills
  • basic understanding of the DNS service
  • full understanding of the risks connected to the TOR network
  • appropriate control of the tools required to access the TOR network safely
  • a VPS connected with a public IP for DNS experimentation
It would be great if anyone could mentor this SGAPPLICATIONWrite here below to apply

What are you thoughts on the Solana Saga phone?

For the usual specs there are better alternatives, however, the built-in seed vault hardware makes it quite unique imo as it's a very important security measure for anyone involved in the web3 space.

Are there other alternatives with such hardware?

DAMKO said: AlphaWings  I didn't know about Saga until now. Thank you for pointing it out. It seems very interesting but of course it would take me a couple of months and the phone in hands before I can say anything about it however, generally speaking, compartmentalization is indeed a cool thing as it makes the device attack tollerant.Do you plan to buy one?

AlphaWings  RE: specs, this is very subjective; for me, almost anything on the market is good enough in terms of performance. What I really need is a efficient heat dissipation (even when the device is expose to direct sun light) and long lasting battery. The minimum would be 18 hours with screen on, 100% cpu/gpu but that's not going to happen with any phone because the market wants them slim ... Watts die on mm and then we all need to go around with a damn power bank.Beside that another crucial "spec" is the ability to easily replace the os and the bootloader. Again, this is not a market "spec".What's the most important spec for you?
